The Force as we knew it is in a shambles and I hope it is not beyond repair, but due to the intransigent nature of senior management it could quite possibly be near the end of its present day life cycle. I like Fred have grown up with the Force as my family and I find this era they are going through to be very painful. I have always thought for most of my career that the Force should not be a community or contract police force. I have always thought we should be the equivalent of the FBI and provide Federal Policing expertise. We are world leaders in our Federal Policing rolls but are not good at community and/or contract policing roles. Of course my comments are tempered by the 24 plus years spend in Federal policing.
